We had these for the first time at Epcot's restaurant Marrakesh.
I loved them so much I looked up the recipe, tweaked it a bit (for ease sake) and now enjoy making these frequently.
You need:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 ounce ground coriander
1 ounce chopped parsley (just leaves, not stems)
Mix above ingredients and brown (don't over cook). Then add:
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch ginger
1 pinch saffron (if you have it...if not its ok, its very expensive)
1 teaspon salt
2 eggs, whipped
1 ounce peanut oil
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 ounce ground coriander
1 ounce chopped parsley (just leaves, not stems)
Mix above ingredients and brown (don't over cook). Then add:
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch ginger
1 pinch saffron (if you have it...if not its ok, its very expensive)
1 teaspon salt
2 eggs, whipped
1 ounce peanut oil
Egg roll wraps and one egg set aside for rolling. Powdered sugar and cinnamon to top rolls
Let your meat mixture cool, and with a spoon fill and roll your egg roll wraps with meat mixture. Read the brie rolls blog for instructions on how to roll wraps.
Or watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJTdKyDg_2Y
Wonton wrappers and Egg roll wrappers are the same except for size.
After you have them all rolled, fry them for 1-3 min (lightly browned) in peanut oil on med heat. Do not burn. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon and serve hot.
Enjoy!
Sweet and savory? Very interesting!
